Uninstall Luczystrap without breaking Roblox.

Close Roblox, then remove Luczystrap through Windows Settings → Apps → Installed apps → Luczystrap → Uninstall. If the uninstaller offers to keep settings and mods, make that choice deliberately. When it finishes, test Play from the official Roblox website.

Do not begin by deleting %LocalAppData%\Roblox\, registry protocol keys, or every AppData folder you recognize. Standard removal comes first; Luczystrap-only data cleanup is optional; a working official Roblox launch is the final check.

Use the registered uninstaller first

Release 1.4.5 specifically fixed the uninstall entry in Windows Control Panel. Windows Settings or Control Panel therefore remains the supported starting point—not manual folder or registry deletion.

Before removal

Close both applications

Exit Luczystrap and leave any running Roblox experience. If either application is still open, the uninstaller may need to close it before files can be removed.

Save recent logs first if you are uninstalling because something failed; they are better evidence than a description written from memory.

Primary path

Open Installed apps

Open Start → Settings → Apps → Installed apps. Find Luczystrap, open the three-dot More menu, and choose Uninstall.

Windows 11 · Settings → Apps → Installed apps
Fallback path

Try Programs and Features

If Settings does not show the option, search for Control Panel, then open Programs → Programs and Features. Select Luczystrap and choose Uninstall.

If Luczystrap appears nowhere, skip to the recovery section below rather than guessing at registry commands.

Data decision

Read the removal dialog

Older public Luczystrap code offered “Keep my settings and mods.” Current 1.4.9 source is not public, so follow the choices actually shown on your screen. If no keep-data choice appears, assume personal files may remain until you inspect them.

Verification

Launch Roblox from the web

Open the official Roblox website, enter an experience, and select Play. You are checking that Windows now hands the Roblox link to the official Player instead of a missing Luczystrap executable.

Stop here if Roblox opens correctly. A successful launch means you do not need registry edits or a Roblox reinstall.

Decide what should survive the uninstall

Application removal and user-data removal are different jobs. Keeping data makes a later reinstall easier; clearing Luczystrap-owned data gives troubleshooting a cleaner starting point.

Keep your data

For a temporary break or normal reinstall

Choose the keep-data option if it appears, or make a backup before removal. This is the lower-risk path when your profiles or custom assets matter.

  • Settings and profiles you want to reuse
  • Mods, themes, fonts, cursors, or plugins you added
  • Recent logs needed for a bug report
Reset your data

For corrupted state or a clean diagnostic baseline

Remove Luczystrap-owned leftovers only after standard uninstall, only after checking the exact path, and only after copying anything you might need.

  • Use when the same Luczystrap error survives reinstall
  • Do not carry untrusted plugins or imported flags forward
  • Do not treat Roblox’s own folder as Luczystrap data

Know which folder you are looking at

The project README and one third-party 1.4.9 inventory do not describe storage in exactly the same way. Review both documented user paths and the observed installation folder; delete neither by name alone.

Safe to back up

Luczystrap personal data

Copy wanted settings, profiles, mods, plugins, and logs before cleanup. The README documents installed config and log locations separately.

%AppData%\Luczystrap\ %LocalAppData%\Luczystrap\logs\ .\Luczystrap\UserData\
Review after uninstall

Luczystrap-named leftovers

A third-party scan of 1.4.9 reported settings, profiles, modifications, versions, logs, and the EXE under the local Luczystrap directory. That is an observation, not a guarantee for every PC.

%LocalAppData%\Luczystrap\ %LocalAppData%\Temp\Luczystrap\
Do not delete routinely

Roblox and shared Windows state

Removing Luczystrap does not require wiping Roblox. Manual protocol and uninstall-registry edits are also outside the safe standard path.

%LocalAppData%\Roblox\ Windows registry protocol keys

The release 1.4.9 “remove the LocalAppData folder once” warning was a version-migration instruction. It is not proof that every routine uninstall should delete every folder, and it does not replace a backup decision.

If Play no longer opens the official Player

Historical public code attempted to restore Roblox protocol registration during uninstall, and release 1.4.5 fixed both browser launch and uninstall handling. The exact current implementation is closed, so verify the outcome instead of assuming it.

Restart Windows once

This clears any remaining Luczystrap or Roblox process and gives Windows a fresh protocol-handler state.

Retry from the official Roblox website

Open an experience and select Play. If the Player starts, recovery is complete.

Reinstall the official Roblox Player

If Play still fails, follow Roblox Support’s reinstall instructions. Roblox says a reinstall should replace missing or broken application files; close other programs first.

Escalate only after the supported repair path

If the official Player still does not launch, record the browser, visible error, Windows version, and whether Roblox opens from the Start menu. Avoid copying unverified registry scripts from forum posts.

Standard uninstall is enough most of the time

A “clean uninstall” is not automatically a better uninstall. Match the amount of cleanup to the reason you are removing Luczystrap and stop when the result is verified.

What this guide does not claim

I can document a safe process and the evidence behind it. I cannot turn historical source code or a third-party scan into a guarantee about every current installation.

Limit 01

No current public uninstall source

Version 1.3.1 source exposed the cleanup sequence and keep-data option. Version 1.4.9 does not publish the equivalent implementation.

Limit 02

No clean-PC removal trace

There is no first-party before-and-after inventory covering files, shortcuts, processes, protocols, and registry entries for 1.4.9.

Limit 03

Leftovers vary by setup

Portable use, custom install locations, plugins, mods, interrupted updates, and retained data can produce different remaining files.

Short answers before you remove anything

How do I uninstall Luczystrap?

Close Roblox and Luczystrap. Open Start → Settings → Apps → Installed apps → Luczystrap → More → Uninstall. If it is absent, check Control Panel → Programs → Programs and Features.

Does uninstalling Luczystrap uninstall Roblox?

A normal Luczystrap uninstall is not a Roblox uninstall. Do not delete %LocalAppData%\Roblox\ during routine Luczystrap cleanup. Verify the result by launching an experience from the official Roblox website.

Can I delete the Luczystrap folder in Local AppData?

Use the registered uninstaller first. Afterward, you can review a remaining Luczystrap-named folder for a clean reset, but back up wanted settings, profiles, mods, plugins, and logs before deleting anything.

What if Luczystrap is missing from Installed apps?

Check Programs and Features. If it is missing there too, reinstall the same official release to restore the uninstall entry, then retry. If Windows still cannot remove it, use Microsoft’s program install and uninstall troubleshooting guidance.

How do I restore Roblox after removing Luczystrap?

Test Play from the official Roblox website, restart Windows once if necessary, then reinstall the official Roblox Player if it still fails. Do not start with manual registry edits.

Do I need a clean reinstall?

Not for ordinary removal. Use a clean reinstall only when troubleshooting corrupted Luczystrap state or an issue that returns after a standard uninstall and reinstall.
